Severn Vessel Traffic Services
Severn VTS is an Information Service VTS which provides, by formal definition, a 'service to mariners to ensure that essential information becomes available in time for on board decision making' within a VTS area which includes the seaward approaches to Swansea and Port Talbot and the western part of the Bristol Channel from Nash Point in the west to Newport in the east.
Severn VTS also provides a regional port information service for ABP's South Wales ports of Swansea, Port Talbot, Barry, Cardiff and Newport, by acting as the central coordinating point for all marine related matters including, berthing information, port information, pilotage and ISPS security.
