Denotes that in calm weather a vessel with a fully operational bow thruster should not require tug assistance

Vessels carrying chemicals in bulk must engage a tug for their first visit to the Port of Barry.

The number of bow tugs may be reduced from two (2) to one (1) if the bow tug is tractor tug of more than 40 tonnes bollard pull. Ship's lines used as bow lines must have a valid test certificate and be designed for the task.

If the beam of a vessel entering Bird port is more than 17.5 metres two (2) tugs will be required.
